Neurotoxins

Botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxic protein, produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction, thus causing flaccid paralysis. Brand names such as:
